How to Be Mindful of Self-care

National Women’s Health Week (May 10-16) serves as a reminder for women and girls to make their health a priority. A little self-care can go a long way towards a happier and healthier you!

We realize the journey can be bumpy sometimes, so here are some quick and easy things you can do to jump-start, re-start, or refresh your mind and body to better self-care.

Make Time

a woman in peace

Carving out the time in your day for self-care is half the battle. But even when we do, we often end up judging ourselves or are so distracted by other items on our to-do list that we are not making enough time to establish a good self-care routine. It is important to be mindful in setting aside time each day to focus on you and your health, be it mentally or physically. Set an alarm on your phone or make it part of your wake up or bedtime routine. The bottom line is you need to make it a priority to carve out time in your day to focus on you!

Be Mindful

Mindfulness is the practice of being fully present. In your self-care practice put your phone down, wait till you are alone in the car at the end of the day, or after the kids go to bed. The point is to eliminate distractions so your mind can clear and be present. Notice thoughts and just let them go, without judgement. Instantly you’ll notice yourself in a better mood and the benefits to your self-care will be amplified.

Get Sleep

Sleep directly impacts our mental and physical health. When you are asleep your body repairs important cells and tissues. It helps your mood and helps prevent feelings of depression. Make the time and be mindful to create a sleep schedule. Continue the schedule through the weekends to prevent having to hit re-start every week.

Stay Hydrated

Being well-hydrated improves sleep quality, cognition, and mood. Our bodies need water and proper hydration is the foundation to self-care. If you haven’t been drinking enough water you can feel tired, cranky, or irritable. You might even imagine that you’re hungry, when what your body is craving is water. However, drinking the recommended amount of water can seem like a full-time job on its own and as part of your wellness journey, it might need a jump start. Infuze Aesthetics & Wellness center offers an IV Hydration Fuze to help prevent and assist with dehydration. Sometimes your body and self-care journey just needs a little jump start.

Jump Start

Taking the steps for better health and self-care is not easy. It’s personal, it’s unique and every person has their own approach. Remember self-care is not just about taking care of your body, but also taking care of your mind. Taking advantage of the services offered at the Infuze Aesthetics & Wellness center is a great way to hit start, course correct, or continue your wellness path.
